Windows 7

\Windows 7 (or Vista redux if you prefer) has been unveiled at All Things Digital and it looks like Surface is making the transition to home PC

. At least the multi-touch integration of Windows 7 appears to be pulling from a lot of the work the Surface team has done. The rest of it looks like Vista…and maybe a little OSX.

Bill Gates (can’t a retired philanthropist rest?) and Steve Ballmer revealed the latest version of Windows, and now we have a few details about the upcoming new Microsoft OS. It will have a docking system

similar to what Mac users have enjoyed in OSX, although how it will work and if it’ll completely replace the Taskbar is yet to be seen. A few touch programs will be a part of Windows

7 including: a Paint program that allows you to paint with ten fingers, a piano app and multi-touch gesturing in photo galleries to manipulate your pictures.

Nothing being shown right now is final and all of it will be reworked and revised before Windows 7 releases in 18 months.
