Asus Eee PC X101 launched in India; a MeeGo netbook for Rs. 12,499

Asus has launched a new netbook in India, called the Eee PC X101. It has arrived here ahead of several major international territories, such as the U.S. and Europe, where it is expected in the next couple of weeks.
Priced at Rs. 12,499, the 10.1-inch netbook bears a very basic hardware configuration, and we wonder just how well it will do in the market, when there are plenty of other full-featured netbook offerings out there, at negligibly higher prices. Asus wants aims for it to be an alternative to both netbooks and tablets.
Asus has also chosen to release the Eee PC X101 with MeeGo onboard, not Windows, or any regular full-featured distro like openSUSE or Ubuntu. Looking at the specifications, which read almost like a tablet’s, we realize nothing else but MeeGo might work – with just 8GB of built-in storage space (SSD), and 1GB of RAM. As many folks in the industry have observed, the netbook is a hybrid of a tablet and a netbook, unfortunately – keeping the worst of both worlds. No surfeit of ports (with no VGA and Ethernet), no optical drive, and no touchscreen.
The Taiwanese giant apparently intends to provide a fast, rich and intuitive computing experience, while at the same time keeping costs low with the operating system, and hardware. As for storage, a glaring omission, Asus has pre-loaded Dropbox cloud storage for free, allowing users to store some real data.

The Asus Eee PC X101 comes with a choice of an Intel Atom N435 or N455 processor. Other specs include Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity, a webcam, two USB2.0 ports, and a 3-cell battery that promises a four-hour battery life, using Asus’ Super Hybrid Engine (SHE). It will be available in white, red and brown.
Speaking on the launch of the tablet in India, Asus’ Country Head, Alex Huang, said:
“In Asus X101 netbook we have integrated the consumer's productive needs with his lifestyle requirements to enrich our customers’ experience. I am sure this new offering will bring in substantial traction.”

2010 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Blanc is here for sale

The 2010 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Sang Blanc, which was designed in 2010 at the request of a client in the UK, is now for sale. Having run only 448 miles, the car comes in matte pearlescent white, a black front grille, painted door handles, black engine covers, black roof rails and a black exhaust. It boasts a 7993 cc W16 engine with a total of 1001hp at 6,000 rpm. The car race up to 217 mph. Other features include an iPod connection, reversing camera, rear parking sensors, electric folding mirrors, Puccini sound system, additional glass roof, sport seats, diamond cut alloys with painted black center, and black brake calipers. No price has been released.

Just when we thought we had covered all of the special edition BugattiVeyrons that have blessed us with their presence - remember the Veyron Sang Noir and the Sang Bleu? - a one-off Veyron pops up out of nowhere on a dealer website. The Veyron Grand Sport Sang Blanc was designed in 2010 at the request of a client in the UK and just one year later is on sale for an unrevealed price. The best part is that it only has 448 miles on the odometer.
The Grand Sport Sang Blanc was no doubt the customer’s answer to a tweaked Sang Bleu, which was only offered in a limited run of 20 units. The UK customer requested a Matte Pearlescent White, known as Bianco Canopus Matte, along with a black front grille, painted door handles, black engine covers, black roof rails, and a black exhaust. What was left was a uniquely pure supercar that was limited to only one. Take that, Sang Bleu!
The exterior finish was the only thing that was changed so anyone interested in purchasing the one-off special edition can still revel in the 7993 cc W16 engine that develops a total of 1001 HP at 6,000 rpm. That amount of power will get the supercar up to a top speed of 217 mph.
The list of standard equipment includes: iPOD connection, reversing camera, rear parking sensors, electric folding mirrors, Puccini sound system, additional glass roof, sport seats, white stitching throughout, diamond cut alloys with painted black center, and black brake calipers.

World’s most expensive home built for $12.2 billion only

Another ostentatious product from Stuart Hughes – the world’s most expensive home

Called “The World’s First Gold House”, it’s a luxury home built by Zug Switzerland’s exklusiv haus in collaboration with Stuart Hughes, who’s known for his outrageously expensive custom luxury items.
The completion of the home took five and a half years and cost $12.2 billion USD (£7.5 billion). The home resides on a secret location in Switzerland near the Italian border and sits on a lot measuring 2,442 square meters. It has a living space of 752 square meters, 8 rooms, a 388 square meter terrace, a basement with a special stone wine cellar measuring 245 square meters and a 4 car garage.
What makes the house so very pricey is the over 200,000 kg of solid gold and platinum fixtures and fittings and the specially designed flooring throughout is made from meteoric stone with shavings of original 65 million year old T-Rex Dinosaur bones embedded in each tile.
Behold! The King of bling casts his spell to stun the world by transforming a house in Switzerland into the world’s most expensive house. Costing a whopping £ 7.5 billion($12.2 billion), it comes loaded with solid gold and platinum fixtures and fittings. More than 200,000 kilograms of precious metal is used to bring in the bling element. Stuart Hughes has teamed up with Kevin Huber of exklusivHAUS of Zug Switzerland for a client who could afford to shell out an astounding amount to dwell in the most unique and most expensive house. The exclusivity bar is further raised by using meteoric stone with shavings of original Dinosaur bone from the 65 million year of Raptor, the T-REX right throughout the flooring. Coming back to the basic features that define a house, this uber-opulent den spreads well to accommodate eight rooms with special wine stone cellar and a garage with four parking places (to park your most expensive cars).

The site lists the details as - Land off: 2442m2, Living space: 725m2, Terrace: 388m2, Cellar: 245m2. The team took about five and half years to erect such an abode. The exact location is not revealed for obvious reasons!

Well, this latest pompous address certainly makes the $1 billion house (which was touted to the most expensive house till date) appear humble. At this cost, we can add twelve Antilia to our planet’s skyline.
